Default Backrest Height Question

I have an 2009 RKC on order and I am also going to order a sissybar. According the catalog there was not a Tall detachable sissy bar for the 2009 RKC so I will have to order a Standard Height one. My question is My wife is 5'9" so will the standard height Sissy bar be tall enough for her?

1. Anything is better than nothing.

2. The tall one was ugly anyway, nobody bought it which is why they don't have it for your 09.

I can only tell you my own findings on the height of the passenger sissy bar setup.
The 09 Road King bikes look to have a thicker passenger seat than in years past.
When I had my 06 FLHT , I purchased the standard (medium) height sissy bar setup and it looked pretty nice on the bike.
The bike had a comfort stitch seat (thick) so the backrest just touched the passenger backrest when it was installed.
My wife hated it pretty much , so I got a tall setup and she liked that much more.
The standard height hit her very low on her back , and she hated it.
The tall hit her higher in the hips and made a big difference over the medium.
The tall setup set the passenger backrest pad about 2" above the seat and made quite a difference.
If you look at the accessories website
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I looked it up under 2009 FLHT , you will see the standard height sissy bar upright has some space between the pad and seat , like the old "tall" did.
I think she would like the standard height better for comfort.
My wife is 5'8"

I have the 52627-09 Std Detachable Bar and I'm using the 52886-98C Backrest, large and comfy at least that what my wife tells me (looks a little big to me).

I measured the height from the seat screw up, top of the sissy bar is aprox 10 1/2 high and to the top of the backrest it's aprox 15 1/4 inches, this is on a 09 FLHR so not sure if its the same for you.

edited FYI it's about 12 1/2 -13 inches from the seat to the top of the sissy bar
