Yeah I have done all that, not sure, I haven't talked with my buddies to see what they are doing, but will figure it out. I figure with HD I will have to add another $100 bucks to get to all work right. LOL Thanks
Really should consider going with headsets instead. I have both, bike came with a mike and never use it. With head set one just pushes the key button on the handlebar housing. For the head sets to set it up you have to set your VOX to about 11-14 depending on wind noise/interference, I don't know about the hand held mike. You guys would have a much better time having headsets as it wil allow you to coordinate stops and what not. Seamless and safe. With a mike you'll have one hand off the handlebars or be stopped.
I have one and use it all the time when riding with a group. I do not use the cradle for it, plug it in and sit it between my legs or jacket pocket. You will not hear anything when you talk into it, try with another bike close and you will hear it from thier speakers. read the Owners manual for adjusting squelch.
You have a CB, so you must have AM/FM/CD also. And you don't have head-sets? Don't you use the intercom? I didn't think I needed a radio, CB, or intercom on a motorcycle until I got one. Now I would hate to be without them. CB is great when riding with others. Intercom is great when two up. I would give up the tunes before giving up the CB and intercom. The sound tof the bike is enough music to my ears!!
my understanding is to not expect much from the system...people i know are lucky to get 1/2 to 1 mile coverage even with the standing wave set correctly...
let me know when you want to sell one of those new mic's..
who knows of a preamp for the mic that would cure the low audio on the e-glide CB
maybe a small 75 watt kicker would not hurt either has any one set up anything like that

Audio? I doubt you could get a good enough SWR to run any kind of linear on a MC. I've got all kinds of high end CBs and I run a linear in the truck. The bike CB works well enough for what it is for. Perhaps yours is not working as well as it should?
