ok are u using the same cord as u did on the 95 bike? I thought the newer ones used a slightly different cord. Check the J&M Website 'cause they have different patch cords for the 05(?) and later CB's

edit: if all else fails give J&M a call, they are very friendly and helpful.

I had to buy new lower cords, the new ones have a different pin configuration.

Rollon,

You need the owners manual to set up the CB, squelch, volume, channel and intercom. Can't help you with the 06. I know they have a different headset cord than the 05 models.

Sounds like your CB volume may be way to loud and improper squelch, causing feedback into your headset.

Had the same problem with my J&M Headsets even though I purchased a different lower cord........had to send the headsets back to them to configure to the new HD radio....each time I keyed the mike there was soooo much static and my friends told me that I was squeeling terribly too....there was a discussion about this on another thread here....J&M were vey helpful and it was free fix!!!!

I worked on this yesterday and here's what i found. If i hook up the front headset only, everything works fine. i didn't add the rear headset, but suspect if i do i'll get the static. the CB seems to be fine without the rear headset. Any ideas?

I also have the 06 but have had no problems with the CB. If you need to get a copy of the owners manual to set it up.. If you need a copy let me know and I will copy and send it to you.. it is not that hard.. I have used both single rider and double and they both work fine. I am also using HD headsets and find that they work great.. No problems to mention...

Had more time today to work this. if i hook up both rider and passenger headsets, i get the static. if only the rider headset is hooked up, it works fine. Called J&M, as you said, they told me to send the headsets to them and they would correct the problem; no charge!!!

thanks for the great help!!
