Just had to share a little story. Took my three year old son on the bike this weekend for his first time. He's too little to crawl up there by himself yet so Mommy lifted him up and plopped him on the passenger seat. Had his sungalsses on and the biggest grin you've ever seen. Mom was nervous, we were excited. My other son who is eleven and has cerebral palsy was sitting there in his wheelchair watching his little brother and loving every minute of it. He can't walk or talk but he is the smartest little guy you'll ever meet! He wanted to race us down the driveway with his powerchair and go too. He knew he couldn't but he would if he could! Anyway, took my three old around the back streets of town and stopped by a friend's house who was working on his new Street Glide putting some parts on it. He was so proud to show Uncle Jeff that he was riding with daddy. Stayed just a couple of minutes and left for home, maybe a half mile. The whole way home my little guy just kept saying "me no go home yet daddy, me no go home" Looks like I finally might have a full-time riding buddy when he gets a little older! Sorry Mom.

Be ready to defend that ride to Child Services if someone called them for child endangerment. A police officer would have to stop and possibly arrest you if they witnessed that. I know it sounds fun, I too have a 2&1/2 year old and he likes "Daddy's monercycle" but he won't be getting on a bike that is moving until he can reach the floorboards like the laws say. 3 year olds, just don't have the attention span to ride. What would you do if he let go and starts sliding off?? There's no way you would catch him, there's no way you could stop the bike safely if you tried. This is exactly why police and fire departments and paramedics will never be out of a job.

Thanks for trying to ruin my little bit of pride. First of all, lighten up a little! To get to your "points". I am personal friends with every police officer in our town so I don't think they will stop me unless its because they are excited for my son also. A three year old does have the attention span to go for a 3-4 minute ride. I didn't say I was going across the country with him! I don't think he's going to slide off the back of an Ultra unless he gets up and jumps off, but my son is not an idiot. I can stop my bike safely, I do it numerous times every time I ride. I was a fire-fighter/paramedic for fourteen years before I was shot working a house fire and nearly lost my life. Two months in the hospital, wheelchair and crutches for nearly three years after that and I could go on and on about hardships and troubles but I won't bore everyone with that. Sorry I love life and all it has to offer and if I want to share some of that with my family. Go back to your padded room and stay outta the way! Sorry, had to vent!

He may be a killjoy but he is dead on. If CPS ever gets its sites on you it is not nice. It was a cool story but all it takes is some old bitty to make a call at the very least. Had the youngster fell off they could loose almost everything fighting the state just to keep him. It sucks *** but it(the SS CPS fight) happens everyday. I only say this thinking about the what ifs not trying to kill your story.
