Anyone know how to turn a Garmin Quest 2 into a Harley "Conquest" GPS? I recently picked up a refurbished GPS for a fraction of the cost of the Conquest, even though they are pretty much identical. I saw on Garmin's websitethat I can download software from the Conquest, but am being blocked due to my product's S/N.
Has anyone bootlegged a way to get the Harley software onto the Quest 2?
Go to www.poifactory.com take a look around, and download the POI file for HD dealers. Load it as a custom POI in your Quest2 You now have a Conquest...thats the ONLY difference other than a splash screen and the logo on the front.
You might also need to download the POI Loader from Garmin. I needed it to add the Harley Dealers list to my 530. I'm not familiar enough with the Quest 2, but I was able to change the splash screen on my unit, too. POIfactory.com has several options for splash screens and the dealership list.
The Conquest II is a newer version of the Conquest and the HD version, you can't go back. The navigation software is the same in HD units and Garmin branded units. Visit the Zumo forum and you'll find people who have transfered the software from the Harley version of both the Zumo and the Conquest to the Garmin branded item and found no difference. Any difference in the menu screen is embedded in the BIOS information and is not transferable. Give up and download the upgrades for your unit, it isn't worth loosing sleep over as it is a three generations old device that's been replaced by the Zumo 450 and 550, which is now being replaced by the Zumo 660.
