Default Torque Wrench

Stupid question on torque wrenches. Which one do I need, I bought the service manuel, some values are in ft lbs, others in in lbs. Checked out some at sears the other day, those values are on 2 different wrenches. Do I need 2, is there one wrench with both values on them? What range should I get ie 15-75 ft lbs, 50-150 etc...Anyone have any other suggestions besides craftsman.

I have this in-lb wrench from Pit Posse. Working on geting the ft-lb soon. Craftsman may be your least expensive choice for the in-lb wrench.

I bought one of each and after doing a good bit of reading here and getting input from members, I bought mine at Harbor Freight and both were under $50. For the amount of time I personally use them, investing a great deal was not a wise decision. They carry a lifetime warranty and ya can't ask for more than that. I've been using them of late and they work great.

Just get a cheap "bend" bar torque wrench and do the math. One foot pound equals twelve inch pounds, two foot pounds equals 24 inch pounds......and so on. Click wrenches, like the craftsman, are inherently inaccurate because they have no defined mathematical length. They are close, but you can't do the big and small jobs with one wrench.

It dont matter how its rated, because 12 inch pounds = 1 foot pound, just like a "ruler" and easy to figure the conversion. Just get one that covers the work you're attempting to do.

I don't like to do math and operate a wrench at the same time, so I got both. Got 'em at Harbor Freight like BadBagger

Price range can vary along with accuracy. Have a Snap-ON in/lbs and it is very good for those have to be right areas, but serious $$. Looked at Craftsman way back and didn't see anything wrong , but I've never used it.
