I think that is way too small. I understand if you do not want to go too big but please take my advise that you won't be happy. You can start with a heritage bar for $40 from dealer (need no changes to wires, cables, and brakes) to see what you think and go from there. That is how I was told to do it and I am glad I did that way. About two months later I changed to 18's and at 5'10" I am right at the threshold of legal.
....and maintain superior control

On the other hand, you might love them like I do.
The OEM bars were causing me pain after a while my wrist ddi not like the "wheel barrel" angle. I read and researched for months came close to buying the 518's because I wanted and preferred the classic look. But it's not about looks but comfort and the 518's would have been a bad choice for me at 5'8", so I got the 513's and I was pleasantly surprised on how good they felt and looked also improved handling. Very happy with the choice

I believe the Heritage bars are about 10" rise. They will go on with no cable changes and are only 50 bucks, hard to beat!

Yeh I was sold on the Heritage bars, but I wanted to stay with the 1 1/4" bars like I have now (beach Bars). like ya said I don't like the wheel barrel angle.
