Has anyone raised their SG the 1" that it was lowered at the factory? Happy or unhappy with the new ride height and/or the suspension travel? Did you do both ends or just one end?
Maybe you have always made the the perfect choices in life and have never had to try to rectify a less than perfect situation but I screw up all the time and as such have to ask these types of questions to see if this is a direction that I may want to go. Just curious to get some feedback from those that have gone this way.
With all do repect, I disagree. I think the SG can look fine 1 inch up and I bet very few could tell that it was done. That being said, if you are looking to raise it in order to get a better ride, you may not have to. I just got new Racetech Caddie rear shocks for my SG. I went with the stock SG height afet talking to the rep on the phone. He felt that the ride quality of the new shock will be so far superior to stock that I did not have to raise it an inch. I will let you know the results after next weekend, assuming I have time to install them this week.

Im looking to do the same things. The 1" is only in the rear from what Im told.
The low profile shocks are what lower it an inch. Many people pay to get them and throw away their perfectly good ones. Maybe you can find someone with that need and work out a trade...you will both be happy. Assuming they are the same year, mileage etc. I lowered a Electra Glide 5 years ago only because I blew out a shock the night before a trip and the dealer only had the lower shocks. It looked good but it was only out of necessity that I did it. The reverse should work the same.
If your thinking of raising it, go on ebay and buy a set of shocks. They can be had on the cheap, I bought some for 40 $. Its just the shocks and it wont cost much. Dont like it takem off.
if the sg is only lowered in the rear and I would MAKE SURE, then do yourself a favor and get the progressive bagger shocks...I don't have them on my bike (08 standard) but I will promise you they are a VERY good product....I've used them on a few other bikes.
A friend raised his and is very satisfied. He rides hard and suffered the consequences of having the bike lowered. He simply put stock touring shocks on. The bike still looks virtually the same but has more suspension travel and more cornering clearance and handles a passenger better than when lowered.
