I think it is worth mentioning also that the roads up north (including Michigan) are probably right behind cagers in being a safety hazard. The winters are hell on them and the state is in the toilet so don't expect much in the way of repairs. My brothers wife was killed last year in Kalamazoo when she hit a hole on I-94 big enough to endo her sporty.

sorry to hear that. i'm not a fan of frivolous lawsuits, but i hope that your brother sought out an attorney on that one.
Yeah, it's pretty bad around here, we just had another near fatality this Sunday, another cager turned in front of a bike... They just don't pay attention and I can only imagine what it would be like down here if our highway's, streets and roads were void of bikes for the winter months!!!! "D"
I realize a lot of y'all aren't as fortunate as we are in the south to have good weather and ride most of the year. Well the good news is the weather down here is great and we do get to ride the majority of the winter, the bad news is even though they're bikers out almost all year we still loose a lot of brother due to some cager driving with their heads up their a$$!!!
I've been seeing a lot of post where the weather up north is getting better and a lot of y'all are planning on dusting off your scoots and polishing them up for a spring ride. Well unfortunately those same cagers I mentioned above are out an about up north also and the bad thing is they haven't seen a lot of biker this winter and aren't looking for any during the early spring when a lot of y"all are out for your first spring time ride.
Lets be careful out there and drive very defensively, because remember just because the driver of a cage looks you right in the eye's it doesn't mean they see ya!! Good luck, ride safe and have one hell of a fun ride!!!

friend of mine had to lay his brand new rg over yesterday when an idiot pullin' out of a 7-11 looked right at him as he pull out of the parking lot. he stopped, looked right at phil, then pulled out in front of him. phil wasn't hurt but f**ked up his 2 week old rg. then the *******,yes, i said *******, drove off without offering any help. ya'll watch out....ride safe
Thanks for the reminder. This past Sunday, I watched someone driving new BMW trying to make lane change without looking at his mirrors or use the left turn signal almost crashing into another car on the highway in front of me as it was my 2nd day of riding my Harley. If they ever got into an accident, I simply would've plowed right into them 2 cars w/o question. Kinda scary to be in that situation, Huh.

Great post, you are absolutely right on re the Cagers. Was able to finally get ridin this past weekend and already had 2 Cagers try to flatten me by pulling out from intersections. As someone said, ride like all the cagers are trying kill you. Be safe........
A friend of mine went down several weeks ago when a car pulled out of a parking lot and crossed 3 lanes to get to the left turn lane without seeing his bike that was in the middle of those 3 lanes. He laid on the horn and nailed the brakes but could not avoid hitting him. Spent a week in ICU, but is back home now and doing well (thankfully, he had a DOT helmet on). Bike is a different story. Looks like the cager is going to get a reckless pinned on him, which he fully deserves!
He is a very experienced rider, but the situation was beyond his control. Be careful out there, and make yourselves as visible as possible! I know there are different perspectives on this, but I'm a proponent of loud pipes for this very reason.
