I realize a lot of y'all aren't as fortunate as we are in the south to have good weather and ride most of the year. Well the good news is the weather down here is great and we do get to ride the majority of the winter, the bad news is even though they're bikers out almost all year we still loose a lot of brother due to some cager driving with their heads up their a$$!!!
I've been seeing a lot of post where the weather up north is getting better and a lot of y'all are planning on dusting off your scoots and polishing them up for a spring ride. Well unfortunately those same cagers I mentioned above are out an about up north also and the bad thing is they haven't seen a lot of biker this winter and aren't looking for any during the early spring when a lot of y"all are out for your first spring time ride.
Lets be careful out there and drive very defensively, because remember just because the driver of a cage looks you right in the eye's it doesn't mean they see ya!! Good luck, ride safe and have one hell of a fun ride!!!
Good post. We had the first really sunny Sunday here last weekend, next day motorcycle deaths in the news across the country. Its a bad combination more cars full of distracted drivers and bikers still rusty from the winter lay off. Also even if you have ridden all winter you still might get caught out by the suddenly influx of holiday drivers who are lost, confused and partially sighted. Ride safe.
Great post... one thing I always do when riding is watch any approaching cager very carefully and since a big majority of accidents are when a cager turns in front of you, I make it a habit to look at the wheels on the vehicle regardless if it's stopped or moving to cllue me into to what direction the cager is headed... I basically drive like they are all out to get me and knock on wood, it's working so far. Complacency is our biggest enemy.
Great post just because they look in your direction does not mean they are looking at you! I was told watch the wheels ... if they are looking at you but wheels are moving they don't see you!
be safe all
I always drive as if Im invisible, because cars NEVER seem to see you. I fine the city to be far worse than on the highways. Either way defensive driving is the only way to ride
