Default Stage II Big Bore Heads

What heads would be best to go with this package? Any ideas would be great as I am just starting to consider this.

If you are just going with the standard HD stage 2 kit (203's), the the stock '06 heads are okay. You could get the heads "detailed". New cylinder heads cost big bucks!

Just get your current heads ported (Big Boyz on this site does a good job I've heard. Dewey's in NM is good too, a friend I ride with got his done there.)

Dewey told me to leave the heads alone on a mild 06 build! So I would say leave them stock!!

Thanks for the info. I may leave them stock and save some money.

Others may feel the cost vs improvement doesn't warrent porting the '06 heads. At $299, I feel the improvements are worth porting the '06 heads for. The intake ports can be improved upon, the valve seats get improved, the combustion chambers get polished, the exhaust ports get marginally changed, the exhaust port surface gets finished differently and the valve job is MUCH improved over stock. These improvement all add to the performance of the '06 heads. I suppose at $600+ it would be hard to justify this to a customer, we don't have that problem.

Now for $300 I can see getting them done. I will send mine out over the winter, but for now I am going to enjoy the ride!
