Hi,
My name is Doug and I am an new sponsor here on the H-D Forum.
I have been working 2 years developing, patenting and getting my new products manufactured. They say, "Necessity is the mother of invention." In my case, this has been true. I started my product line for my fatboy which there was no way on God's green earth to keep my passenger from melting her boots on my pipes other than spending 600-800 bucks on a new set of pipes. So... I invented a guard that would do it and this guard has led me to my other designs.
Take a peek.. I hope you like them. If you like bling for your bike, these are laser cut, copper coated, duplex nickled and hexavalent chromed. In other words, they are among the best show pieces on the market. If you want to keep rubber off your pipes.. they do that, too and are engineered to fit only H-D motorcycles without any drilling or modification to your existing ride. Please let me know your thoughts, and if you can, place an order and help me get my new business off the ground.
Many thanks,
Doug
Basically we chrome the piece without doing the laser through cut. Then there is a local guy here in the Denver area that laser etches ANYTHING into the chrome. The laser shows up in a Black dye that does not pierce the chrome so it is not compromised. I will have a sample of his work on our web site before the end of the month when I roll out the product.
They've been making them for years. I believe Kuryakun has them. However, your's look alot nicer, there's are basically chrome plated round bar. Nice job, i'd definately be interested in a set.
I had seen the kuryakyn. They did the same design as the carl miles boot guard, but they put more holes in the "L" bracket where you drill them into your floorboard. I hope they didn't use that small change in order to get around Carl's patent. Anyway, I engineered mine to mount to the existing rear bolt clevis. You just replace that axis pin with the new one I include and the design lets this one bolt lock it to your board like it is welded. That was one of the comments I got when I first showed the public here in Denver at the Denver Swap meet last month. Quick easy install and IT DOES NOT EVEN WIGGLE. IT can't loosen up or fall off. The passenger's is engineered to bolt where your existing bolt holds the passenger footpegs. Again, it only takes the included chrome spacer and the longer bolt I provide the the guard. I look forward to getting you a set and I want to have you pic on my web site when you get them, if that is all right.
Thanks,
Doug
Let us know when the sample of work is up on the website. I assume pricing for the work will be on your site?
Dawg,
I will have pricing posted with the pic. I do not bump the laser charge to make bank on it, I will just pass it through. The laser billing is by how much time it takes to laser. A simple design will be less than one with a lot of detail. I will post all of this on the web site.
Doug
Welcome and thanks for becoming a sponsor. The product looks nice, they wouldnt go with the flow on my bike, but I am sure you will do great with them.
