I adjusted the clutch and every thing went well, I think? Is the clutch lever supposed to be against the grip when pulled in when it's in gear. The bike does not creep when at stop lights but feels tight at the grip. The clutch lever is about 1/8 to 3/16 away from the grip when I have it pulled in. Any ideas??
i think a readjustment is in order. the clutch lever should be able to be pulled against the hand grip. like gary says, the 1/8 gap is measured at the pivot point. if you pull on the clutch cable, the little silver thing should be able to move from the handle 1/8 to 3/16.
skratch, readjust the cable adjuster only or the clutch pack too? The gap where the clutch pivots is about 3/16.
I turned in the adjuster on the clutch pack till I felt the slights resistance and then turned it back out 3/4 of a turn. My understanding is it call for 1/2 to a full turn out so I split the difference.
I think the cable adjuster is where I am making my mistake.
Sounds like a plan. I have cable lube, but what do you guys use for lubing the pivot point? I have snap ring pliers so taking it out to clean and lube is no problem.
