Really nothing "Special" about it. Its just an easier clampfor installation on an assembly line. These clamps have been around for a long time. You ccan use side cutters to remove them, and if you have an OLD pair of side cutters, dull the blades and use them to install new ones..
The screw type clamp will work just fine, they just take too long to install on the assembly line, and keeping the correct tightnss on them is a pain in the rear, when you are installing hundreds of them a day..
