Default been reading my azz off...

...about two thing for my '08 Ultra and it's pinging and it's funny variation in the exhaust note from the left side and right side. The pinging thing seems fairly common for a totally stock bike, but nobody can pin it down as to what it is exactly. Not much info in the "search" mode, but after a ride and wash yesterday, I covered the right side pipe and I hear most of the exhaust note, then cover the left side and the right side only whispers. I've always known when riding that the left side is much louder, but I had no idea that the right side is almost non-existent!

Looking at your bike from the rear, the right side should have considerably more flow than the left side.

Default left vs. right...

...not even close! Left side had 80% of the exhaust note. Both expell "pressure" while holding hand behind each pipe, but as stated, cover left side and almost no noise. Cover right side pipe and that's where most of the "noise" is coming from. Good grief..........

your %'s are correct but you have your left anf right mixed up as other poster stated. your left muffler is on the bike only for the purpose of preventing the bike from tipping over to the right when parked like an overloded picknic table

Assuming you know right from left I'd check the right pipe to see if something is blocking it.
