If your motor is burning oil, its not because of synthetic, you have some other problem going on. There is no way that burning any oil in a new vehicle will be normal, not with the strict EPA rules.
If you believe this, then you don't understand seating the rings to the cylinder. What do you think a break is means? Do a search on Google.
What does EPA have to do with it?
The silly thing about this is that dino oil doesn't hurt an engine at all, so why even risk it?
If you want to change your oil every 2000 miles you can use dino if you like to change every 5000 or more use syn oil,i use a good quaility oil and lucas oil add every 2000-2500 i change had no problem yet,but you'll get others that don't even think about dino oil no matter what i wonder do you guy that use syn in your bike use it in your car/truck too?
I have used Dino oil in everything for years. Had 257,000 miles on the Subaru. The cv joints and rack and pinion seals went out and the motor was running strong didnt burn a drop.
Had over 120,000 miles on my ford before I sold it, never any problems.
Always used dino oil in my honda crf450 race bike on 110 degree days racing in a series, never had a problem.
The fact is this, quality of oil is so advanced these days dino oil works fine. If you want to spend a s--t load more money for each oil change because it gives you some sense of security and you beleive in it than do it, nothing wrong with that at all. But you cant go wrong either way you go.
BTW, to all the folks that say the CVO 110 bikes come with syn oil, those motors have a base gasket leak problem we have all heard about.

Beary
I understand perfectly how rings seal in a motor. Gas pressure builds up during the compression stroke forces the rings outward against the cylinder wall. With over 150 psi in the cylinder, it wont matter what type of oil you use, the compression rings will seat against the walls and scrape the oil down the cylinder. That is the whole point of the compression rings, to keep cylinder pressure, gas and air above the piston and the oil below the piston.
EPA has a lot to do with your brand new synthetic oil burning cars. Do you really believe that the EPA would certify cars for road use that burned 1-2 quarts of oil every 5K miles? Get serious, all of your statements are made in a world of myths. Next thing your going to say is bearings skate with syn oil. Perhaps the world is still flat, and the sun revolves around the Earth.
