Would like to install a chrome slotted sportster/fatboy rear wheel on my 05 ultra. I believe these only came on 04 or earlier bikes with a 3/4 axle. Can I just change the bearings to the 1" style like on my ultra and use this wheel or is there more involved?

 

Assuming the hubs are the same width, a bearing & crush sleeve swap should do the trick. Make sure the sleeve/bearings are shimmed correctly.

 

Yes, just simply swap bearings.

I have a 1200C Sporty outback on my RKC.

I also have two like new spare 1200C wheels sitting in my basement. One has 3/4" bearings. One has 1" bearings. PM if interested.
