Rock92 is referring to changing the trans output pulley from 32 teeth to 30 teeth. The change on this is between the speedometer/trans and rear wheel. Your change is between the motor and trans, so no change between trans/speedo and rear tire. By the way Rock92, how much off was your speedo?
by doing this have you lowered your ratio? (higher number), also are the first gear ratios the same in a 5 speed vrs 6 speed? if lowered, how much increase in RPMS in final drive..highway speeds...thanx guys
It's back basically like a 5 speed in first and 6th as far as RPM goes.
It's worth the loss in gas milage to get the bike running right from taking off in a dead stop. Because of the extra gear and higher rpm the gearing is better for city driving. I fine the rpm hits better (2200 to 2400 rpm) for 40 to 50 mph driving.

I did my homework on this last night, I hope this link answers your question.
Im wondering why you changed this sprocket and not just the final drive sprocket. I had an evo where I changed the comp sprocket and the bike wouldnt do over 50 on the freeway, but I could easily loose it in the first 4 gears it was so torquey. Now I have an 07 and did the 103 kit and lost first gear because it was so high I was surely going to burn out my clutch, and I could cruise between 45-100 in 4th gear. The final drive change was done and the only issue I had was speedo error of 4-7 mph.
Is this the same issue you had that lead you to make this change? If so I can post a list of the parts if anyone is interested. If Im talking about something off topic my apologies.
