Talking air them up

just ad a couple pounds of air to your tires might help.

All I have to say is the thing fixed problems I didn't even know I had until I installed it. All of the sudden its like oh this is how this bike should handle.

I've read every thread on this board regarding stabilizers. I have a 2006 RKC and frankly have never experience any kind of high speed wobble to the extent that has been described. Having been a cross over from the metric bikes I can honestly say that the Harley, as much as I love it, never has handled as well as some of the large diplacement metric bikes I've owned. No complaints. It simply never felt as stable to me. I have been riding over forty years I'm an above average wrench and and more often than not over maintain the bike. After all the **** research and comments, I plunked down a few bucks for the Throttle Up touring stabilzer. The quality was excellent and the kit seemed to accomplish the same as all the others by adding the extra stabilizer link. I have put about 75 miles on the bike since installations and my thoughts are as follows: I am not a "travel through the turns at ninety" kind of guy however, there is a definite difference in feel to the bike. Where I notice the difference is on quick manuevers...ie pot hole avoidence. this obviously could be a benefit in an emergency. Over all the bike seems to have a slightly better feel in handling and there is a slight, but noticeable difference in the lesser amount of vibration...more akin to the metric bike. It was no big deal to install and I think the price I paid for the stabilizer I chose was fair. I think many of these kits have gotten out of hand on price. In short I am very satisfied with it and I do feel it makes a positive difference in handling. We all have our opinions of course, but my satisfaction and what it does for me is what counts as it should for anyone else.

My RK feels as solid as a rock on the freeway now at speeds of 70 and over with the Bagger Brace. It is definitely worth the expense.

Default Jack needed?

Has anyone installed the Progressive stabilizer (or other similar side-mounted stabilizer) without using a jack? The instructions say to jack up the bike, but I don't have one and the cost of buying a jack would be more than paying a shop to install the stabilizer.

Rocky.... i installed a progressive stabilizer on my bike with out a jack, the only thing i needed to do is loosen the right exhaust (no need to remove). pretty much straight forward install of about 30 min. just follow the instructions.

Thanks very much, jandt. Are you happy with the stabilizer?
