I have stock hd dunlops on my 07 roadglide. Im looking to upgrade to metzeler 880 marathons oem size tires. Im looking in the drag catalouge and see they offer the stock tire size ( mt90b-16 , 72h ) front and the (mt90b-16, 74h ) rear. Theres another set that my local dealer suggested over them (130/90h-16, 67h ) front and (130/90 hb -16, 73h) rear. I was told these were better due to a stronger compound and that they would allow for higher air pressure. Can anyone shed some light on this situation maybe suggest the best way to go and why. Thanks !!!
The stock sizes are front MT90B-16, rear MU85B-16. It should be marked on your stock tires. My MU85B-16 Metzler rear has over 10,000 miles and looks to have quite a bit more. This is on an '07 Streetglide. My rear MU85B-16 measures 145.6m.m. Why would you want to put a narrower than stock tire? The 130 Metzler is around 125.4 m.m. The 130 rears were stock on '03 and earlier Baggers. Maybe these guys are trying to sell off stock. The MU85 Metzler is rated at over 900lbs. and is the PROPER Metzler replacement for your '07 Roadglide. Hope that helps.
