Been busy with work and kids having Birthday. I just now had the chance to fabricate the stabilizer. These photos is the prototype that will serve to fabricate a finish product.
Just a suggestion I figured out after I made mine.
Slot the bottom hole that goes over the cap cover. That way you don't have to remove the exhaust to install, unless you want to. You can just back the bolt out, then slide the bracket in place, and retighten after the top bolt is installed.
I suggest you use 1/8 chromemoly steel to make the bracket out of since there isn't much room between the exhaust and bottom bolt head, unless you plan on spacing the exhaust out a little. The 1/8 chrome moly is as strong as 3/8 mild steel.
I got the chromemoly plate from McMaster Carr and had enough that I have made 5 brackets out of the 12*12 piece. Made mine and 4 others for friends.
How about making the slot for the bottom bolt at the 6:00 position rather than the 3:00 position. That way the natural movement of things would not tend to pull it out of place. Just an idea, might not work. looks like you are doing a GREAT job!!!!
