Default Lowered Rear End

Stock air shocks are 13.5", Street Glide I believe are 12.5" units. How low can you go before you start banging and scraping things? Is 12" or 11.5" too low with an air shock or standard spring type shock on a bagger? I've already installed the 12.5" air shocks, had the Mean City cut down on the seat but would like a little more reach to the pavement. I've had no problems with the 12.5", but if I could get just a little more it would not hurt.

I have an 08 SG. The stock shocks on the SG are 12". I run 10 3/4 Harley air shocks cut down from Bitchen Baggers. I have been very happy with them. No bottoming and I have been able to adjust the ride firmness. I tried 11" 412 progressives and they were good too but the damping was too harsh for me. Bitchen baggers will even do a 10 1/2 " as well but if you ride 2 up I'd suggest you don't.

I just installed 11.5" progressive springs on my streetglide and so far have had no problems bottoming out. It does lower you a bit but not a huge difference and if you like to feel the road your in luck because you will feel every crack!
