Believe me when I tell you, nobody on this Forum is hoping spring comes MORE than me. I'm in TOTAL withdrawal, and it snowed again last night, and it's going to again tonight. You're absolutely right, I need help. Perhaps my flight to Dallas, TX next week and a rental will help cure my problems. I know I'm a little over the edge.... But come on, no more storage or room for a passenger than a Sportster. This is a Road Glide we're talking about here Bob!
Bigsky, when you get yourself all worked up like this (you know, more snow, toaster a/c covers , great lookin' Road Glides etc. etc.) Just take a deep breath and repeat three times out loud:
Goosefraba, Goosefraba, Goosefraba
Dr. Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) and Adam Sandler in "Anger Management" (maybe rent the movie while you're snowed in big fella!)
Once you go to the touring ride you'll never turn back.
I don't know if your replacing your sporty or not - but Harley does have an incentive going on for trading a sporty in on a bigger bike. Sounds like a good deal too?
What kind of incentive does harley have on trading an 04 Sporty in?

Rodeo, I own the DVD. Great movie. Go back and check my posts. I'm usually so mello, and chilled....Leo got you on the toaster, not ME! But I'm seriously in need of some riding, I will take that incoming missile. But I am beginning to feel like poor Adam Sandler in the movie.... Geez, doesn't anybody out there understand how difficult it is to go almost 4 months with only a couple of days of riding? Ahhhh, Goosefraba, Goosefraba, Goosefraba.... IT'S NOT WORKING!!! I need to RIDE!!
EDIT: Oh, and BTW, you own a RG, are you going to tell me there's no more room for luggage or passenger than on a Sportster? Come on Rodeo, where's the outrage?
Outrage? Hey, let em' believe that if he wants right? In all honesty though, the Road Glide is probably the roomiest bikes that HD makes. It's a good bike for "big fella's" (I qualify) and most buyers wind up needing closer handlebar replacements. It looks like a beast but handles like a lamb. AND you can pack a Sporty in the tourpack as a spare!!
I myself need Adam Sandler's WIFE from the Movie "Click"!!!
I just realized...66Impala started this thread, and he's nowhere to be found. Not a single comment after his initial post. Guess he didn't like our responses, or doesn't know how to find the original question he ask... In either case, if he doesn't care, I certainly don't....I'm outta here!
Sorry for the lack of response, between work and wife thinking of killing me for looking at another bike.
Here is where I stand now, I would have to sell my sporty on ebay or craigslist, not a problem overall. The bike im looking at is a used 2004 roadglide with 23k and well maintained. The asking price is 12,500 with a tourpack and some other goodies. The credit union approved my loan for 260.00 a month for 5yrs, my intention is to pay that down once the sporty sells, leaving I hope a balance of 7000.00. Wife is giving me some static about it overall. I dont know what the future holds and like said life is short, im thinking of just making the deal. I emailed the bike owner back and waiting for the call.
If all goes well Ill have to fly out and drive the bike home, 700 mile road trip.

Wow, 700 miles so bike is unseen?
Did you consider just riding your Sporty over to a few local Harley dealers and see what kind of a deal you could get on a new 2008 or 2009 Road Glide? Sure you'll pay a couple of grand more but the bike will be brand new and if you opt for the 09, a much improved model and quite possibly the last year made of the FLTR as we know it. You can still get your loan from the credit union and the collateral will be a new bike as opposed to a used one. If I were you, I'd at least explore that option before I bought something sight unseen. And even if you've seen it, how old are the photos? You'll never know what the true condition of that bike is until it's too late and you already own it. Your Wife will love the back of a Road Glide (Or any HD Tourer) and with an 08 or especially the 09, you have something that would not be too hard to resell should that need arise. Lots of deals around if you shop 08s and even 09s. Just my 2 cents....
I just looked at the photos of your Sporty. If you are riding that 2-up especially, you are definitely ready for a Touring Bike. Are you in eastern PA? Couple of Dealers across in NJ that are good to deal with. Mills HD in Burlington and I hear Barb's is good too.
