I think this is one of those times that it might be best to have some shop do it that knows what they are doing as if you mess it up ...well you know what HD really stands for right.
I have a small set of curved hemostats that seem to be more rigid than small needle nose pliars, but are as skinney. If you can find one of them, you could do a little probing and then lock onto the egde of one or both CDs and hopefully pull them out.
But, the idea of going to a stereo shop is maybe the best one I have heard.
BTW, I got XM radio in my Ultra and I almost listen to nothing else now.
Thanks for the help.
I tried the knife idea and now atleast the 1st CD now plays and it does not keep
trying to load a CD but it still cannot eject. I will try my local HD dealer to see if
they can or a car stereo place and let them try. I am going to start using my MP3
player again thou because it does work and sound better than the CD's.

Just curious, how can you blame HK when the fellow jammed a second CD on top of the first. Doesn't sound like the radio's fault to me.
I'd probably remove the radio and take the case off and see if you can get to the CD that way.
I think you are reading too much in to my response, I am not blaming it on HK at all, although I am surprised it allows 2 CD's to be loaded. I am pretty certain that the CD systems in my cars do not allow this, although naturally I am now very reluctant to test this!
My comment is based on a lot of posts I have seen on the forum about the sound system. Personally I am delighted with mine and I think the sound quality is excellent. I have a lot of HK stereo equipment in my house and have never been disappointed, but it seems as though many on this forum don't like the system

With enough effort you can push a football through a keyhole. Getting 2 CD's in is no surprise if you're not attentive.
You made a pretty broad brush stroke based on the relatively small number of complaints you've seen compared to the total number produced.
I've had this unit since '06 and the only problem I ever had was with clock gaining time. Fixed that with a download at home from HD.
Not being defensive here, just sayin'.
Please don't jam anything into the unit!!! The CD slot contains a CD guide that will cause the CD to jam if it's bent. You have a pretty simple fix as it is now, just need to get the unit off the bike. Iron Cross Audio (www.ironcrossaudio.com) will send you out an exchange CD drive so you can do it yourself.
Oddly, I went thru the *exact* same thing. I hit 'eject" one day and it took a few times for the CD to come out. Upon re-inserting...it ate it. I didn't really feel that there was a second CD involved (but it sure *acted* like that was what had happened). I was assured that there was no way a second CD would feed if one was already in the player. But my symptoms were identical to yours.
The unit would bypass CD mode as if no CD were inserted. If I used tweasers of hemostats I could press down on the CD surface and it would complete the "loading" event and the CD would play as normal. If I hit "eject" the CD would not eject (and it would disappear from the selection list again).
Fortunately, I had one month left under warranty when this occured. The dealership told me not to screw with it if I wanted it replaced ("don't poke anything else into it, don't try to remove the radio", etc). They slapped in a refurb and it's been fine ever since. But as result I never leave a disc in the player, though.
Are you 100% positive there is a second CD in the unit ? (again, I was told that was impossible) I'd be curious as to the outcome (I was ready to take a hammer to mine at the time). I have an old post here somewhere on the topic (from around Oct 08).

Yes I am 100% positive now that after I tried the butter knife idea the 1st CD now
plays but still will not eject because of the 2nd CD. I know the songs on the 1st CD
because I made it and the 2nd CD is a CD I just bought that day at the store.
