How are some of you able to post large, good quality photo's in your threads for people to view with out it linking to another site?? My digital photo's are in the MB range and it won't upload the pics unless I shrink them down really small in a photo app.
There may be an easier way, but I upload pics to photobucket.com, use their resizing feature for 600X480, then use the URL feature in the "post reply" tool bar to paste in the photobucket URL address for the resized picture. You can use the "preview post" feature to see if the picture shows up or not.
I'll follow your thread to see if there is an easier way to do it. Glad you asked 'cause I really wish folks would use the larger pics rather than the thumbnails.
1) Resize your pics to 600x450 (just a common size that's used alot here)
2) Set up a photobucket page & save your pics there
3) Copy your photobucket pic url (this will show up underneath your pic once you've uploaded it to your photobucket page)
4) Paste this url in your H-D Forums message box & type at the end of it. Then click "preview post" to see if it worked correctly.
This should do the trick if done correctly. Sounds like alot of steps but it's really not once you've gotten used to it. Hope this helps.
...not to hijack or anything, but what I'd REALLY like to know is how do some of you write "click HERE for the information" & you make the word "HERE" become a link?

It's a lot easier on a mac, but can be done a pc too. I'm too lazy to learn how to do it. HTML....
I generally resize my pics to 800x600 and then upload them to my domain server. Then I just link to them in my responses. A link doesn't take up any room on the Forum server so you can display the larger sizes because your images aren't really on the their it's just a link to where they're stored. You can do the same thing with Photobucket, Flickr, etc.
