Default Inner Primary Cover

Has anyone bought the chrome Inner Primary cover from Kuryakyn for the Street Glide? I'd like to get one and the chrome Cylinder Base cover but I'm not real crazy about the bosses (bump outs) for the mounting bolts. I know Harley makes a real nice one but it's almost $300, just curious if anyones installed it and if your happy with it.

Thanks,
bh

I don't personally like covers. They look like an after-thought. If my inner primary ever comes off, I will bite the bullet and put a chrome one on.

I must agree. The covers look incomplete. I put a HD crome inner primary on my SG and it looks real nice. Get the real deal you will be very happy u did it the right way.

Applkes and oranges. The HD one is the actual inner primary casing. Not a cover. That's why it is so much more. The Kury cover is what $99? I'd get the cover and save the dough. Or just pull the stock casing and have it chromed.

I have the cylinder base cover & inner primary cover from Kuryakyn and they look great on the bike IMHO.

Default don't waste your money

I agree with the others, don't waste your money on a cover. If you ever have need to open the case up then you can replace the inner with a chrome one and you will be much happier in the long run. IP covers just look bad.

I have both the primary cover and the cylinder base...I really like them and the install is easy....Harleys is alot more money.....and not as easy to install because its not a cover

I'm not a fan of covers. Often they cover areas that I prefer to be able to see. Like the primary cover gasket, the cylinder base gaskets (or whatever the proper term is) etc.

Any seepage or leak on a covered gasket would go for quite a while un-noticed. And eventually the leak would reveal itself at a location not anywhere near where the actal leak is.

Not a fan of covers either. Bad enough trying to get the heat out on the hot days as it is. Throwing another layer over the engine just makes it that much harder.
