Starting to wonder if I should of went with the real deal. I have it on my Wide Glide and love it..if its not on when I go up, I may end up cancelling that piece of the add ons....cause if its not 100%, I will end up rippin' it off there.
i did a major overhaul of the inner parts so i just had to spring for the chrome inner. i am definitely not adverse to kury parts as there are many on my bike, but i think in this particular instance the actual inner chromed is much nicer. just my 2 cents
I have a brand new 2009 stock inner primary that I'll let go cheap if anyone needs one to have chromed. Never off the showroom floor. You could have it chromed and end up with a total cost of about 1/2 of the chromed Harley cover. Before I took delivery of my new 2009 SG, I had the dealer install a new chrome primary. I hate the look of the add-on cover, do it the right way, you will never be sorry. Direct email is jknott@erols.com
Covers may not be as good as the real thing, but when you are on a limited budget, especially these days, They are not a bad option. I'm going for the cover now, and if and when things get better or I will have the inner primary off, then I'll get the real deal. Until then it looks pretty good.
Has anyone bought the chrome Inner Primary cover from Kuryakyn for the Street Glide? I'd like to get one and the chrome Cylinder Base cover but I'm not real crazy about the bosses (bump outs) for the mounting bolts. I know Harley makes a real nice one but it's almost $300, just curious if anyones installed it and if your happy with it.
Thanks,
bh
I had the primary cover and the cylinder base cover on my 07. Loved the way it looked. Check out the video and you willl see.
There's nothing you can dress up with a stamped steel, chrome plated POS that an original chromed part won't make better. Covers add weight and bad places for water and grime and gook to hide. Then you WILL need to replace it.
