Default Outer Fairing Seal

I have changed my windshield several times and just noticed something I want to fix. Looking where the the windshield meets the lip of the outer fairing there is small gaps between the three bolts that hold the w/s on. There is a good seal behind the three bolts but in between them a gap is created letting water seep into the fairing. Does anyone know how to create a tight seal for the windshield? The inner fairing has a great seal where the w/s goes into the fairing. It's just the outer!

Get some of that 1/8 weather stripping or something like that and put it on there, i found a car window weather stripping/wiper(felt) for a door and slide it in there.

Older fairings (pre 96) have 5 bolts across the top and 2 additional ones, 1 below on each corner. Even they can not make a perfect water tight seal at times.

Went to the home depot and picked up a role of foam self adhesive tape in the ducting section. Put a strip on the inside of the outer fairing and cut slits for the bolts to pass thru.

The foam compresses and fills in all the gaps and lasts a long time. I did it back in 05 and the fairing has been on and off a lot over the years for upgrades and repairs and the orignal foam strip still works.

I ran a bead of clear silicone. Works great so far and you can't really see it.
