Just wondering if anyone has run across the problem of the factory radio loosing volume. Mine just started to act up, volume just disappears, but the radio is still on (almost like it's muted). If you shut the radio off and turn it back on it's back to normal. may last 15 mins, 2 hours or all day. I thought I read somewhere that there were some issues, but couldn't find anything. The dealer wasn't much help. I don't believe it's a heat issue, because the
majority of the time it stays on.Thanks you in advance for any imput. 2007 HD Bagger with hog tunes and we just added the eyebrow speakers and did not have an issue last year.
This thread is on here many, many times. Do a search and you will find many, many answers. From broken fairing brackets, update your radio etc; Best thing is to look at the other threads. Good luck

Yes you are correct, except alot of the post do not have corrections or the wrong symptoms. I felt that this is pretty clear cut and I do remember seeing something similar, but could not find it again. I'll check and see if the wiring by the cruise control has an issue. It started on a trip and I was using the heated grips, so I'm not sure if that didn't cause some type of issue. I find it hard to believe that it's an amp, because when I shut it off it will come right back on and normally last a while. Appreciate the imput
Yep Mike that's the same problem mines having. Just started the last week of my vacation. Sometimes it would work just fine and the other off when ever it wanted too.
mine did this in my just going over my 2 year warrenty in my 06 Ultra and the dealer relaced with a refurbished on at no cost...the reburbished one had problems and it was returned and replaced when my bike caught fire...
Don't know nor did I find out what the problem was, was just glad they replaced it after the 2 years were up...
Components near the heat sink in the audio circuit sometimes react badly to vibration and need to be replaced / reworked. There is a modification that is then installed to keep it from happening again.
