I need a tool for connecting the AMP Multilock Connectors. The HD tool (HD-41609) for mounting AMP Multilock Connector pins is a dealer-only tool---and probably too expensive. Does anyone know of a different crimping tool (hopefully affordable) that will crimp the AMP Multilock Connector Pins correctly? If you have a tool that you know will work, please provide a website, part number, etc., I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You can do it with a pair of needle nose pliers if your careful. I have done it numerous times on my V-Rod and now SG and I may have only ruined one pin. As long as you use the correct gauge wiring, you should have no problem. The pins only go into the connectors one way, so look how the old ones came out for a reference.
I used a little solder to seal the wire into the pin and then gently closed the two tangs down onto the wires insulation to secure it.
If it worked for me, it should work for everyone......

+1 I also looked into buying the tool. Way too expensive for me. I used needle nosed pliers and a regular crimp tool and it worked out ok. You may have to trim a little bit off the 'wings' of the pin that go around the insulation. Other than that, it worked for me.
