I figured I would get a nail in my tire every time it got close to the minimum tread depth, then I get a new tire at no cost. This should pay for itself in 7 years...
The tires arn't pro-rated depending on the depth of tread left?
I don't know because I've never had to use the warantee on them. I know they do it that way on car tires, and batteries.
I just purchased an '06 RK a couple weeks back and was offered a range of options on the warranty from 1 to 5 years. I went with three years for just around $1000. $50 deductible each occurrence. Think it was around $1700 to cover it for all 5 yrs.
They also had a separate tire, wheel, road-hazard package but passed on that one.

not prorated on tread left my sporty "accidently" picked up nails in the tires just before 3/32" left and brand new tires for free. But I passed on extended warranty and tire/wheel on my 09 ultra.
I guess the other thing that worries me is "what voids the warranty"? Does a stage one kit void the warranty? How about a PCV, new Pipes, What if you do all your own work? I would hate to spend that money and not be able to do any mods to the bike for 7 years, or be tied at the hip at the hip with the dealer for all work.
I am passing because after the standard warranty is up I intend to have some serious engine work done. Was told in no uncertain terms that voids the warranty.
My current warranty expires next month and I recieved a card from HD offering a extened service plan. It is the one where you pay 50$ deductible. What is everyones opinion on this type of extended warranty.
