I picked up the new ride last week and after 160 miles on it I know it's the best bike I've ever owned! The ride, handling, everything is perfect! My question is that with its aggressive suspension, is it normal to feel like it's almost bottoming out over hard bumps? I weigh around 220 and the wife's around 120 soaking wet so I don't think our weight's a factor I'm just concerned that if it's not normal I say something to the stealer. If it's normal then I won't even bother because I'm not breaking anything. Any advise would be great! Thanks in advance!

Change the fork oil to SE Heavy Weight and make sure you rear shocks are aired up per the owners manual for your combined weight. It may make for a slightly firmer ride but there should not be no more bottoming out or nose diving when braking.

Had the same problem on my '08 SG. Then I read the owner's manual and it told me how much air should be in the rear-end for two people according to how much weight is in the saddle. I made the adjustment and it now rarely bottoms out. I wish I didn't have to do that as I like the slammed low look, but I got tired of hearing my fillings rattle around in my head every time we hit a bump.

I have been experimenting with adjusting the air pressure and have found it makes a huge difference. I will have to check my last adjustment (I think 15psi) , but what I have it set on now is as comfortable as my RKC. I am very happy with it, but I have not rode two up yet. Play with it that adjustment before you go back to the dealer.

Does increased air PSI in the rear shocks, make the bike sit higher?

I plan on getting new rear shocks. Probably penski with the **** to adjust it by hand. However they are very expensive, but I believe they are the bets shocks out there.
