Thats a pretty sweet deal. Will the Q2 system receive the radio and phone? Does it attach to a half helmet? I need to buy a system and like the Q2 but am not sure of the above questions? I noticed there are different models of the Scala systems and am not sure what the deal is.
Are the Scala able to link with the Blue ant?
Ok yes the Q2 has a built in radio and is blue tooth to the phone, it also can accept a MP3 player or ipod. It will not connect to a Blue ant only other scala units. It will connect to a half helmet as long as it has the ear flops however form personal experance I do not recomend it.

How many Scala units can you connect to? If everyone in a 10 bike group has Scala's can they all talk to each other?
I have to say that you guys sold me.. I've been looking for a comm system, and this one looked to be the one. I ordered it from Techncyclegear late Monday, and received it today. Great service, Thanks.
So on to the test. Installation to my and her 3/4 helmets went flawlessly. Rider/Passenger intercom was clear and a lot easier to hear than the yelling we used to do. Paired it with my cell phone, and had the wife call me out on the bike. She didn't know I was riding while talking to her.Using the FM to listen to my Garmin Nuvi 750 built in MP3 player and GPS directions. Took a little while to find the frequency, but once found and saved, it too worked with no issues. I also plugged in a iPod shuffle MP3 player, and it appears it's just a pass-through from the MP3 out to the in helmet speakers directly. Stereo, but tinny sounding.
Overall, I quite pleased, and with the great service from TechncyleGear, I'm a happy camper.
It comes out of both speakers, but I don't think it is stereo as the Scala doesn't support AD2P BT stereo. Maybe HDUltraRider can correct me if I'm wrong.
OK, So what is the difference between the Q2 and the lower priced Scala rider set? I am only looking for the intercom, and maybe pair to my cell phone. Also, how do i get ear flaps on my half helmet?
Does the Scala replace the HD headsets and functionality on the Ultras? Does it plug into the same ports on the Ultra? Do you lose any of the functionality of intercomm, cb, radio, etc?

I just installed the HD Helmet Comm pouch on my half helmet . The ear peaces slide into them and stay in place over your ear.

The Scala does not replace or plug into the Ultras at all, you would lose the CB and intercomm funtion of the ultra radio you would use though the speakers. I ride an Ultra and used the CB very little never used the radio though the headseats I I upgraded to Hog Tunes. So I no longer use the ultra built in comm system and use the Scala's for the intercomm and everything else I need for me it was a much better fit as I like the GPS and Phone capability as to upgrade the ultra to blue tooth it was 499.00 + install if you don't want to do it your self.
