Default UPS when Touring?

Just curious to see how many use UPS, DHL, FEDX or what ever to ship stuff to destinations. Rather than pack bike full or pull a trailer. I understand it only works on planned trips. It does not work on spur of the moment and unplanned trips. I use it on long planned trips. Works for me.

If it dosn't fit on my bike I don't take it. I take 3-4 days worth of clothes and stop at a laundry mat when needed. The only problem I have is buying to much stuff while on a trip. I have not had to ship anything home yet, but it is an option.

Default Shipping home

I have used it to ship stuff home, but never a head of me.
Pack light is my moto, take only what you need.

I have bought stuff alone the way and had it shipped home.

I will be using USPS on my Trip to NY but that is only cause I need a suit for a wedding and I figure stuffing it into a saddle bag would not be good

I have - out of necessity. Took my annual week long bike trip at the end of June four years ago to the East coast. I've always packed my leather and "never" used it.
While packing all my stuff I decided to forgo the leather in lieu of a rain jacket to conserve space.
You can guess what happened - cold spell! We're talking like 50 degree weather.
I ended up having my wive ship the leather to a stop along the way.
Of course as soon as I get it - the cold snap breaks and I don't need it!
Go figure?
Other then that I try try to be self supported. Including the leather!

Yes we have done it and it works out well. It allows to to have everything you need and still travel light.

When I travel with MY wife we usually hit 4500-5000 miles 10 days 2 2 weeks, there ain't a tour pack, saddle bag nor trailer big enough! We ship to the mid point with a return label to ship stuff back, that a way I can at least fit a small tool pack or a koozee or somethin.

Thats why I have the Ultra.
Plenty of space for me in one saddle bag for a week.
I roll a t-shirt, socks, skivies into a pair of jeans or pants for each day.
Doesn't take much room at all.
Now my girl need the other saddle bag and the tour pack plus a bag on the tour pack rack.
If I could get her to leave some of the crap at home we would have lots of room.

I do it all the time. When heading to Key West for Fantasyfest with a camping stop for a few days at Daytona, we'd send the party stuff ahead to Key West and before we left to return home we'd ship it back along with the camping gear as we weren't camping on the way home.

When hunting in Alaska I shipped just about everything except my gun and a change of clothes. Beats dragging all that stuff through airports and waiting at baggage conveyors.

Never shipped ahead but this year when we went to Key West I went to the USPS there on our last day and sent all our dirty cloths back in a box I bought at the Post Office. It allowed room for stuff we bought on the way home
