HD Modular for me, the only way to go. It
takes a little getting use to.

Thanks for all the information. When I bought my first harley five years ago I started with a half helmet, I've gone through three trying to find a good fit, then a 3/4 and finally a full face. I like the full face on the highway for long trips but getting my glasses on is a pain. I like the inner sunshield on the modular helmets which seems to be a great option, just wonder if they are dark enough. Having purchased five helmets in five years I'm ready to find the right one and stop supporting the helmet industry. I like the looks on the Nolan.

The HJC Symax II is a great helmet but the sun shield is definitely not dark enough for bright sunny days.

On the Nolan it helps (here in mile-hi Colorado) but does not eliminate the need for sunglasses or self-darkening glasses.

On the Shark Evoline not quite dark enough, but useful for "quick fix". Problem I have with the Shark is that is seems to stop about 1/2" higher than it should, so the bottom of the shield disturbs my eyeline. This can be overcome by tilting head or helmet forward slightly but that becomes uncomfortable after a while.

The real pain with helmets is you need to wear them for a couple of hours before you really know for sure, they all feel good in the shop

The inner tinted shield on the Caberg is great. It's dark enough and rides to block the sun. Only problem is that these fine helmets aren't sold in the states. You can import them and the cost of shipping and changing from Euro's/Pounds to dollars isn't that hard of a hit. One thing to keep in mind about the Caberg, it is a helmet that best worn by round headed folk. If you head is an oval shape I would not recommend the Caberg.
