Default FLTR pulls to the left a bit - alignment? No idea!

2007 FLTR, pulls to the left a bit. Not terrible, but each time I test it with a no-hands cruise control run, it always just veers left.

my 05 FLHT is true as an arrow. So I am wondering what could cause the FLTR to pull left, and how I can go about remedying the situation? Does this require a shop visit or is it something I can do myself? I do have a Direct-Lift if getting under the bike is needed.

Thanks!

My '08 does it and so did my '07 Heritage. I haven't figured out a cure yet.

Is it under power or braking when it pulls? Or just going down the road?

Just going down the road. It's not noticeable with hands on the bars, but if I set the cruise and take both hands off, it always immediately starts to drift.

Granted, should you really ride without your hands on the bars? Gotta adjust those gloves/ipod/cupholders somehow.

I just had a discussion about this with a writer for one of the Harley mags. Most of the time the frame is not quite true which is one of the reasons for the new frame design. It causes the bikes to drift slightly left or slightly right.

Some have said it's because of unevenly distributed loads in the bags. I guess that's possible. I think it's bind pressure in the clutch cable pushing the bars to the right, causing a slight lean to the left. Most RG clutch cables are fastened to the gauge pod on the handlebars. Seems logical to me But, my Lowrider did it too.

My '09 SG does it too... not a lot, but it wants to lean left and "pulls" ever so slightly that way.

Sweet07 does the same thing from day 1. I never really have had an issue with it. Just lean slightly to the right if cruising w/o hands. That's what I do. I always felt it was off balance as far as the engine goes????

i've heard that it was a combination of things.

the clutch cable pushing the bars slightly right, unevenly distributed loads in the saddlebags, and the extra weight of the primary on the left side.....

Do you have a tool kit in the left saddle bag? A little uneven weight will make a difference.
