Just went through this ended up with Powerlet and ball with 3" ram arm on left handlebar.Wanted one on dash but it vibrated too much.Probably for your app the powerlet on bar center by clamps.

Sorry ...just read all the thread ...I have 06 Sg and it works great .just high enough and dont have to look away from road.I run a black shield so I need to look over my windshield...not through it.Left handlebar ...easily adj/remove....clean mount with powerlet when 765t nuvi is off bike.

Ditto on the Ram mount. Used it for a Garmin 2620 and it worked great. You just have to get all the right parts but the web site is easy to use.

I use the ram mount on the handle bars for my Magellan 1470. Little to no vibration. Sits high enough that it is visible without being in the way. Was able to run my power cord under the tank console. I picked up a cig lighter adaptor at my local HD dealer and attached it to the battery. I used the factory cig lighter power cord for the GPS and tucket it away under my right side cover. This setup works great for me.

I got a cool one on ebay for my nuvi on 1 1/8 bars. Don't remember vendor but he sells for several size bars. Nice chrome with brass ball. Used for several thousand miles. Hard wired to headlight with pigtail from ebay too.
