I have V&H Basic Slip-ons and the Xied's,but I want to go ahead and put the V&H true dual headers on in hopes of dispersing a little more heat. My question is...will I have to do anything else as long as I leave the air cleaner stock?
Money is sort of an object right now,the wife and I are taking a 3500mi road trip this summer,so I am trying to not break the bank and still get rid of the heat and keeps some looks.
I went with the true duals and the stage I A/C when I bought mine, that and the remap of the EFI ran about 1K. I will say this it will not stop there, your bike is like mine I added some cams and talk about waking up a stock motor. I think it will make a big difference riding two up. Cams were just for low end torque I am not a speedster.
I recently installed the tru-dual kit from B&E performance with the super flow slip ons . Hasnt been that hot here to really tell about the heat issue . But the riding I have done so far I think it made a difference .
I have the O-2 IEDS
The bike sounds GREAT and is much stronger . Low end performance is much better . That is my seat of the pants/gut feelings
Yes, you need a fuel managment system. The ECM won't compenstate for the new exhaust system. Get a SERT or Fuel Pak or Power Commander-V (personally recommend). You also need to open up the air cleaner to let the motor breathe.
So you still need to spend another $350 - $450 on parts plus labor if you can't install them yourself.
