I'm pretty new to the harley stuff but have been involved in drag raceing for 18 years. We have done many dyno pulls back to back that proves more air makes more power. It is not only the size of the filter but the shape of the backing plate and the way it funnels the air into the carb or throttle body.
LMAO..WRONG look at the size of mine and the cfm. what corcon said is true, mine is half the size of harleys but the cfm is double, prove your point
Leo HD, Im not familiar with your air filter/backing plate kit. Im not saying it doesnt flow those numbers just havent tested it for my self. Do you have a flow bench? The reason Im asking is you cant really compare cfm unless the test are equal. your filter could have been tested at 28 inches and woods or whomever at 10 inches of water. you must always compare apples to apples. It is true that the shape of the backing plate plays a huge role in flow, but shear size does as well. the paper media being equal will still have the same restriction no matter what the backing plate is. think of it this way, if you have a coffee filter and you poor a quart of oil in it, then double the size of that same filter( media being equal) which one will drain faster? Same principle with air. Although like I said above the backing plate does play a big role in this.
