If you drop it on the right side, make sure you put your jiffy stand down before you stand it up, or things wil get real uncomfortable, espicially when It falls on the left side.
( I didn't do this, Honest)!

Did it last week. Forgot to put the jiffy stand down. Nerfs bars did ther job. I also got the chance to pick her up using the butt to the seat, one hand on the bars and the other hand on the rear rack. Easy to pick up, embarrassing as hell.

Yep, I owned my first Harley (02 RKC) for only two hours when I rode over to a friend's house to show off the bike. I stopped in front of him, shut her down then watched my new bike slowly lay down on her left side because I forgot to put the jiffy stand down. No problem picking her up, I had so much adrinaline from bring imbarrased that I could have picked up an M1 Tank.
Sorry to hear this, but when a 850 lb. hunk of metal wants to lay down there's nothing a 145 lb guy like me is going to do but let it!! Crash bars are the best, I wouldn't ride without them.
I've layed mine down a few times, doing just what you did, look down, go down!
Glad i'm not the only one. Had my Fatbob for about a week. Pull up to Hooters for a fantasy draft and decided not to park at the front door but pull down the hill by the other bikes. Well sure enough a little turn going slow and a little front brake and right at the front door of hooters Bike on ground. You talk about hard to walk into a place. Man my ego was hurt for a week after that.... One guy in the parking lot said hey man u ok and i think he got a few choice words just for being in the area.....
I'm in KC too and it seems that drivers are all over the road and not paying attention a little worse than normal this spring. A lot of cell phone users... I especially like the lady I see on 435 once in a while in morning rush hour driving 20 miles below the speed limit talking on her cell phone and eating from a styrofoam container in the middle lane.
