Default Check Engine Light...Ideas???

Problem started yesterday. Noticed mainly in 5th gear, as I get on the throttle, my light will come on and stay for a while, usually till I get to a light and sit for a few. Then, it will go off, until I start getting on 5th gear. Checked everything I know of, but can't solve this one. Any ideas???

PROBABLY A MISFIRE OR COMBUSTION ON #2 CYLINDER. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT UNLESS THE LIGHT STAYS ON. YOU CAN EITHER HAVE THE DEALER RESET IT WITH A SCANALYZER OR DIGI TECH OR IT WILL GO OFF BY ITSELF AFTER YOU START THE BIKE FOR 50 TIMES.

Yeah, I hope it is something simple like that. She has run like a top from day 1, and still does. I think the longest it has stayed on is 10 minutes or so, then like I said, when I slow to a stop, it cuts out. You said it might reset automatically after a while??

You can retrieve the code in the diagnostic mode and clear the current code. Go to this link ( https://www.hdforums.com/forumid_247/tt.htm ) and look at the bottom two threads in the first section and depending on your year of bike it explains how to do this and gives you the list of codes. I have an 06 RK so I used the one for 04 and 05 and it works fine. Good luck.
