I have a 04 FLHTI. The front brakes have a constant scrapping sound. The sound disappears after applying the front brake. THe pads looks new and I am not seeing any unusual wear on the pads or rotor. Took the dealer and they said everything is ok that some brakes just make that sound.
My 04 does same....I have found that brake cleaner seems to help.spray pads, drive short distance, repeat(Be careful wet pads DONT grab well!!!)....seems to help...some guys have had great luck with aftermarket pad,i have not changed mine from stock yet.Good Luck..R.W...Also try a search!!!
And WELCOME....

when you release your brakes, the brake pads will move away from the rotors far enough that there is no pressure. consequently, that means that they are actually touching them very lightly, hence the noise. nothing to be worried about unless your pads are still applying pressure, then you could have a stuck piston. and that needs to be taken care of asap.

When I took mine to the dealer to get them checked they flipped the rotors around and the squeaking stopped, but the scrapping continues.
Thanks for all the input. I know that the pistons are not sticking so I'll try spraying them
