I have an 06' ultra and bought the headsets and the dealer installed them on my helmet and my wife's. when i use mine, the sound is very tinny sounding...like a cheap speaker.... paid close to 150 for the units.
anyone else have this setup and if so does is sound like crap also? music thru the bikes speakers sound great
H-D headsets are definitely junk. Many, including myself, swear by J&M Audio headsets. I have the Elite Series in my 3/4 helmet. There is also the "Performance" series from J&M.
I had an opportunity to speak my mind on this subject with a gentleman from the MoCo, stating that when one buys a $20K or more motorcycle, the expectation is there that you are getting a higher level of equipment all the way around. As such, one would expect to have better audio headsets, but instead, you are presented with pure, un-adulterated crap!
I know the thought of shelling out even more $ isn't thrilling, but the performance of the J&M Audio headsets blows away the stock H-D junk.
