Funny you mentioned this. The other day a friend of mine seen my bike on the parking lot, and ask me if that is my Dresser outside. That really sounded funny to me. It set me back a little when i realized that, yeah that's my "Dresser".

don't forget "garbage barge" I said I'd never had one. I now have 2 and only regret is I didn't get one sooner. I have an ultra as my wife rides with me a lot more now. I suspect the SG is the greatest solo tourer. Trimmed down with hard bags and a stereo. I was leaning towards an SG but again like I said, chose the Ultra for the passenger creature comforts and the intercom and tour pac storage. I didn't realize at the time with regards to the docking hard ware and removable tour pac. Oh well.

Going way back I only knew one guy that had a bagger/dresser.
We all called it the WATER BUFFALO because he carried the beer, and it was on ice.

yes, still is! That is great for holding beer. that is why they came up with the 18 pack a few years ago(lol), it is a perfect fit for one bag. Throw the tent in the other and the sleeping bag on the back and you are set for any rally!

Guys about 10 years older than me ( I'm 51 ) call them "Dressers" which is derived from the term "Full Dress" which has already been pointed out by a few others here. Full Dress is simply a big bike equipped for touring with bags, windshield, etc...
The term "Bagger" is just the latest incarnation of Dresser.

Sounds about right. Dresser, fully loaded w/tourpak. Bagger, any touring model with bags, hard or soft.

Oh wait.... Isn't the Dresser where you stand to get ready for work and the Bagger the Ugly Biotch you put a bag over her head? A double bagger is where you put one on yours too in case hers comes off.

Default Dresser/Bagger

It seems to me, that a Bagger would have SOFT bags, i.e. Leather, so they're called Baggers, and Hard Saddlebag bikes would be called Dressers, since technically the hard saddlebag really isn't a bag at all, it's a box!
