A lot of us have had good success using "nightrider.com" IEDs. Or XiED. They cooled my bike considerably. Lots of info in the tuning section about them. Only about $100 and work on most bikes with o2sensors.

07 rkc here, xied's helped a lot. Just installed v&h bigshots and heat is virtually gone, but too loud. Ordered quiet baffles to tone it down. Any fuel enrichment you do will help, ie: power commander, sert, xied, etc. Haven't tried the shields, so can't comment on those.
Try our Heat sheilds if they dont work as we say send them back for a %100 refund.. Thats how sure I am of our products.

I put on the Fullsac duals kit.......and the HD heat shields, and no longer have to hear my G/friend complain about the heat.

+1 went with the IEDs and have had no more problems with heat. Just got back from a 500 mile trip yesterday, 90+ degrees in fla. and no problems with heat.
