Default iPod Hard Wire Connection

Here's one for the electrical guys... I would like to hard wire my ipod connection either in the 1/8" port or directly into the radio, and have a accessory switch to activate the MP3 player on my 06' SG with the factory hardon kardon radio. The reason for this is to try and hide the wires and keep everything clean and it is a pain in tha A$% to try and plug it in while ride, not to mention the safty factor.

i wired a secondary AUX in jack out the back of my factory radio, then stashed the ipod in my right side faring compartment (road glide). its really easy to do if your handy with electronics, and looks so much better than stuff hanging off the faceplate of the radio. i just throw the shuffle or nano on shuffle play and forget about it.

I got an ipod/mp3 player holder. You can mount it to 1inch bars or to a screw that holds your handlebar switchs. thats what I did. Then I zip tied the cable to my clutch cable down into the fairing and drilled a hole in one of the blank caps for your switchs, then up and into the radio.

There is a post on bringing the Aux jack out the back of the radio, good clear instructions. You will need to search the forum
