There is a huge industry out there, looking for every opportunity to separate us from our cash. Some of us more willing than others to play along and this forum attracts some of us to discuss our toys. Out of the total Harley-owning population we are a tiny proportion, so you are asking the wrong people!
If you decide to dip your toes into the tuning/customising market you will find that the more you spend, the easier it will get to spend even more. Welcome aboard....
Stock here. No mods to the engine of any kind. i keep trying to talk myself into it but, i like the way my 08 sounds and it runs fast enough for me.
Nothing wrong with leaving it that way if happy ... I wasn't I know darn well that 14.6 A/F is too lean which the oil temp reflected as well as the heat coming off the exhaust .. also like to enjoy the roar of a harley not the sound of a sewing machine...
This is my 7th harley first Road Glide. The most recent an 06 Heritage. I have owned 2 E-Glides, 2 Road Kings and 3 Softails (2 Heritage and 1 Springer) I planned on leaving this bone stock with respect to the engine, mufflers etc as the power was sufficient and I favor my radio over the rumble of loud mufflers. After a few short rides the heat really bothered me so after much contemplation I followed the lead of so many here and went with a Fuel Moto power package. I just installed it last night so other than a quick ride this AM I can't really say other than it went on rather easily. Good luck with your decision, there is no wrong one.
As some others have posted, I added an air cleaner, mufflers and a power commander but the engine is still stock. I made the changes mainly to get a "little" louder exhaust sound and to help the bike run cooler. The 96" is a very nice engine but from the factory runs very lean and hot. The changes (stage 1) made the bike run smoother and cooler, the extra power was just a bonus. I planned to leave mine totally stock as you say but decided to cool it off a little and this seemed like the best way to do it.

Heck no,too boring for me.Besides nothing like the sound of a hot rodded Harley.Don't take me wrong I love all Harleys no matter how they are outfitted.
I ride an '06 Ultra with Stage 1, air cleaner and Screamin' Eagles. I consider that stock. Some will and some won't, I suppose. One of my main reasons for doing it, before it ever left the showroom floor, was to make it sound more like a Harley. The stock pipes in '06 just didn't cut it as far as sound goes. Don't know how the new Ultras sound. I'm completely satisfied with it. It runs good enough for me, looks good to me and sounds like I want it to sound.
