Sale of Exhaust Systems
27150.1. No person engaged in a business that involves the selling of motor vehicle exhaust systems, or parts thereof, including, but not limited to, mufflers, shall offer for sale, sell, or install, a motor vehicle exhaust system, or part thereof, including, but not limited to, a muffler, unless it meets the regulations and standards applicable pursuant to this article. Motor vehicle exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to, nonoriginal exhaust equipment.
A violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
Amended Sec. 3, Ch. 92, Stats. 2001. Effective January 1, 2002.

So what?
Figure out what you want, buy it on line and install it ! Then take it and have it tuned. It dosen't say they can't do that. Hell, some Sreamin Eagle muflers say "not for street use" The same idiots are trying to ban black color on cars (global warming my a$$)

I live near a police station and it makes me wonder what pipes the cops are running with when they howl down my street at 3:00am - they can't be stock.
I really hope the cops have better things to do than hassle people about pipes.

I really hope the cops enforce all the laws equally and do not pick and choose because people feel they "should have something better to do."
It is impossible to be fair occasionally.
