if it helps, i have a 07 street glide, and it comes a little lower from the factory, but i wanted it a little lower still, i used a lowering bracket on the back and new springs in the front forks and polished the front forks since they were already off, with that i was able sit on it flat footed and a nice bend in the knees, hope that helps....

Default lowering

I have a RK custom and it comes with shocks that are 3/4 of an inch shorter than the other RK's but I still needed to get lower to put my feet flat on the ground. Im only 5'6" . I did alot of research on this subject and was told by many to stay away from the lowering blocks. It was suggested to give bittchin baggers a call. I dont know how to post the link but you can use the search here and find it. I had them cut my shocks down 1" and am totaly amazed at how much better the ride is. Most of all I can flat foot the bike no problem and I never bottom out the fender to tire. The price was good and fast turnaround. Look into it . You wont be disappointed.

I've got the lowering bracket 1 1/4 inch in the rear, didn't lower the front, and it made a nice difference. I would,t go with anything too low without redoing the shocks. Those kits are O.K. but not for 2 inches.

I am 5' 7" with a 30" inseam. I used the HD low profile shocks and the front end lowering kit on my EGC and that did the trick for me to flat foot the bike. My 97 RK had the lowering blocks when I got it and had a bottoming out issue. I went to the Lower Progressive 440's and loved them on the RK. I would suggest starting with the shocks and front end (Chrome the forks if you havnt already when they are off :-) ) and if you need to then cut the seat.

There are the Air suspension systems also, but pricey.
