Default Cam install quote

Got a quote from a local indy for Andrews 26h cams installed and then dyno tuned using my exisiting PCIII. Quote was $1200. Bike is an 08 FLHX.

$1200 seems high to me but not sure. Is this in the ballpark for those of you who had it done?

Thanks.

Any opinions anyone. I'm interested in this myself as I plan to do this to my 06 FLHX after I sell my 07 Superglide.

Assuming that includes parts...it might be a little high but not too bad. I think when I had mine done I had about $500.00 in parts (cams, SE Adjustable pushrods, new lifters and gaskets) and I paid $400.00 labor. I never had to have a dyno tune.

I'm going to agree. Depending on the experience levels of the techs in the shop the labor charges will be plus or minus and hour or so (hopefully in the minus). The parts numbers are about 500-550 depending on parts added. The Dyno is expected with the PC III especially if they don't have the correct download (even then...dyno'ing is a good idea!)...depending on the shop they can charge 200-300 for the dyno alone.

Good Luck on your Mod! Mike

Last time I dyno'd it was $200.

So 500 in parts, 400 install labor and 200-300 for dyno seems fair.

Thanks for the replies.

Figure on about 4 hours labor, plus the cost of parts and the dyno tune. It might be a tad high but not far off.

I spent right at $1000 this winter putting in a set of HQ cams including a full SERT dyno tune. So I would say they are just a little high. Of course it's now the busy season so they probably get more this time of the year.
